Fah Lanna Spa - Old City

Wasn't the greatest massage in Chiangmai. When we got there, the massage room was kind of a mess – there were still used underwear from previous customers in the trash bin, and the floor was dirty with footprints. Surprisingly, they didn't give us slippers, which was a first for us, considering all the massages we've had. Once the massage started, it wasn't very relaxing. The lights were on, and there was this annoying creaking noise from the old wooden floor. On the plus side, the masseuse was friendly and polite, so that was a redeeming factor. However the massage itself didn't live up to our expectations – the table was uncomfortable during neck massages, and it felt like they were just going through the massage by routines without focusing on the customers’ need.

Mình ghé qua ngay khi vừa đáp xuống sân bay Chiang Mai, chuyến bag ngắn và hơi rung lắc nên làm mình mệt, đau đầu và buồn nôn. Vừa đến Fah Lanna mình đã thấy ưng ý vô cùng vì không gian như resort, rất to và tiện nghi, mỗi khách hàng sẽ được sắp xếp không gian riêng tư. Khách khá đông, mình may mắn book ngay được trên app. Nhân viên nhiệt tình, mình chọn Hot oil massage nhưng mình thấy dầu chưa được nóng, hơi nguội so với mình, nếu ấm hơn nữa chắc sẽ dễ chịu hơn. Kỹ thuật viên làm relax, thoải mái. Trước khi làm spa sẽ served nước mận. Sau khi làm mình nhớ có trà và bánh, bánh giống giống như bánh cốm Việt Nam. Có điều bàn kế bên và bạn mình trước đó được ăn xôi xoài sau khi xong spa session. Hình như chỉ có book package mới được ăn xôi xoài thì phải, huhu. Nhưng không sao, trải nghiệm okkk, vào chủ nhật khi quay về từ Chiang Dao thì mình có gọi book nhưng các location spa đều full booking 🥲 Mình không đặt được.

We went for the traditional Thai Massage and it was a truly amazing experience. While the massage is on the “pricier” side for Thailand standards, the whole atmosphere was definitely worth it. They provide you with complimentary tea before and after the massage, a foot scrub, a traditional Thai garment and listen to any preferences. The spa itself is also gorgeous and a very relaxing environment.

Bumped into this place by chance, walked in with my wife and saw that it looked like a beautiful, professional place, definitely not as cheap (in all the meaning of the word cheap) as many other parlours in town (where usually extra services are offered...). As it was fully booked for that day, we booked for today. We were received with a welcome drink and we chose our massage. Our choice was 30 min of Thai Massage and 60 of oil massage. Everything was outstanding, from the therapists, to the hygiene of the place. Ginger tea and a crispy snack was served after the massage. Absolutely worth paying a higher price, for the Thai standard, for such high quality service.
